About this grant

Interfaith Worker Justice was founded in 1996 to help religious communities engage in issues facing low-wage and immigrant workers by developing relationships with local worker centers or by helping to begin such centers. By 1998, the grantee had 29 affiliates and by 2007, that number had grown to 60. The purpose of this project is to: a) support a new staff member who will coordinate the training and technical assistance to the local volunteers; and b) explore opportunities to provide additional training to local volunteers and seek funding to support paid positions as professional organizers.
