About this grant
Flint’s economy was dominated by a manufacturing and automotive industry that brought wealth, jobs, and infrastructure to the community. As the global economy shifted, however, the Flint area has experienced a sharp decline in manufacturing and automotive employment. The Genesee Area Focus Fund is helping to create a new model for local economic development. This grant will provide data and analysis that will guide the creation of a new strategy for creating jobs and growing the local economy.
