About this grant
The Michigan Land Use Institute works to strengthen Michigan’s urban and rural communities by engaging the public and informing decisionmakers through a combination of research and public outreach. With prior Mott support, the grantee has focused on implementing the transportation elements of the Grand Vision, a regional land-use and transportation framework to guide future growth in the six-county area surrounding Traverse City. With renewed support, the grantee will continue its transportation work, building public appreciation for, and promoting utilization of, transit, walking, and other transportation options. The grantee will also participate in related state-level policy reform efforts.
