About this grant
After more than two years of collaboration among a diverse group of stakeholders, the Grand Traverse region of Michigan has launched a historic land use and transportation planning process that will set a vision for the region’s growth for the next 50 years. A world-class team of consultants has been hired to lead the project, which will involve conducting a series of public visioning sessions, generating models of various growth scenarios, and selecting a preferred scenario to guide land use and transportation development in the region. The Michigan Land Use Institute will work with local officials and citizens throughout the region to provide input into the planning effort and generate broad public support for implementation of the vision which results from the process.
