About this grant
Afrika Tikkun was established in 1995 by the Lubner family to provide education, health and social services to children and their families in poor communities. The grantee builds and runs community development centers in townships in Gauteng and the Western Cape provinces of South Africa and implements programs designed to respond to the development needs of a child at all stages of their lives. The grantee works with community-based organizations and leaders in communities to ensure that programs are informed by the communities. Past support enabled the grantee to evaluate its current programs and introduce a monitoring and evaluation system for ongoing assessment of its programs. This grant will support the grantee to finalize the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation system, implement programs in line with the needs of the communities it supports, and introduce additional management systems to ensure optimal delivery of programs and good governance.
