About this grant

The goal of the Bill Maynes Fund for Future Leaders of Eurasia is to honor the work of Bill Maynes in promoting stable and prosperous societies in the former Soviet Union. It will recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to efforts in their respective countries to build a middle class, strengthen independent media, promote open and responsive governance, and empower local communities. Individual fellowships will consist of tailor-made programs of meetings and related events designed to give fellows a platform for articulating their vision of the future of their societies, as well as to learn best practices in their given field of interest. Established in 1993, the Eurasia Foundation is a privately managed grantmaking and operating foundation focused on civil society, public administration and policy, and private enterprise development throughout the former Soviet Union.
