About this grant
The Flint River and its tributaries are an important recreational resource for the region’s residents while also providing important habitat for a variety of freshwater species and other wildlife. The Flint River Watershed Coalition works to protect the Flint River and its tributaries through a variety of means, including public education, policy reform, and hands-on monitoring and restoration activities. With renewal support, the grantee will remain focused on the work it currently has under way: building the organization’s advocacy efforts as the voice of the Flint River; maintaining its signature education programs; sustaining the grantee’s outdoor programs; and attending to the group’s own organizational development needs.
