About this grant

The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, a land trust serving a five-county region in northern Michigan, has conserved over 34,000 acres, protected more than 100 miles of shoreline, and manages 34 nature preserves. Over the last two years, the grantee made substantial progress in a number of areas, including: protecting more than 1,000 additional acres; building 10 miles of additional hiking trails; engaging in policy discussions that impact land conservation in Michigan; and updating their strategic plan. With continued general purpose support, the grantee will maintain its multipronged approach to protecting the land and water resources of its region, while also building its own organizational capacity through a variety of means.
