About this grant

The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, a land trust serving a five-county region in northwest lower Michigan, has developed a comprehensive land and water conservation vision which identifies about 60,000 acres of priority working lands and 60,000 acres of natural lands that warrant some form of protection. General purpose support from the Mott Foundation will help the conservancy build the organizational capacity it needs to take on this ambitious agenda. Specific activities over the next two years will include developing and implementing the use of innovative conservation finance tools; refining the organization’s volunteer, annual giving, and communications programs; exploring new ways to collaborate with nontraditional partners; and developing a planned giving program.
