About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen the community foundation field in Poland. During the grant period, the Federation of Polish Community Foundations will develop high quality services for members, attract new members, promote community foundations as vehicles for community development in Poland, and promote and develop local philanthropy. The federation was registered in 2008 with the mission to strengthen the community foundation movement in Poland and promote local giving. Currently, the federation has eight founding members and is working to expand its membership. There are 21 community foundations in Poland that serve about 3.5 million people on 10 percent of the territory of Poland. Since 1998, when the first Polish community foundations were established, the community foundations have accumulated over $2 million in endowment funds and awarded $3.2 million in small grants.
