About this grant
This grant will enable School & Main Institute to continue to develop and model a new small high school design entitled Schools for the Future. Schools for the Future is an alternative education model designed especially for students significantly behind academically, including those who have dropped out and are now interested in earning a diploma and preparing for postsecondary education and career training. Recommended support will allow the grantee to finalize the tools, curriculum, assessment products, and professional development and training modules needed to launch the first Schools for the Future site in 2011 and explore additional opportunities for replication in one or two other sites in 2012.
