About this grant
This grant will provide continued support to School & Main Institute for its Schools for the Future model. Schools for the Future is a competency-based model designed for students who are behind by multiple grade levels, including dropouts who are now interested in earning a diploma and going on to postsecondary study. In 2013, the grantee provided program support to sites in Detroit and Jacksonville, Florida, to implement the Schools for the Future design. Recommended support will enable the grantee to continue to develop the model, provide ongoing implementation support to existing sites, and launch a new site in Hartford, Connecticut in partnership with Our Piece of the Pie, a youth and education nonprofit.
