About this grant
Research shows that the characteristics of many low-income, noncustodial fathers matched those of long-term welfare recipients whose employment rates were increased by the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit. These conclusions supported the New York state proposal for a Non-Custodial Parent Earned Income Tax Credit, which was passed in 2006. This grant to Columbia University in the City of New York will support a study designed to document and disseminate the employment benefits of this expanded Earned Income Tax Credit.
