About this grant
This grant supports the Centre for Policy Studies to explore how South African civil society will adjust and position itself in relation to new leadership in the African National Congress, the dominant political party in South Africa, and a new government administration after the 2009 national elections. Research will include interviews with key government and civil society leaders. Several reports on research findings will be produced and widely disseminated. Additionally, a conference will be convened for civil society leaders and others to discuss the research findings. Established in the late 1980s, the Centre for Policy Studies is an independent research organization that focuses on economic and social policy, governance, human rights, and civil society.
