About this grant

The YWCA of Greater Flint has been serving the Flint and Genesee County community for 100 years with a mission of empowering women and eliminating racism. This grant will provide partial support for the grantee’s SafeHouse, the emergency shelter component of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services, which is the only resource program of its kind in Genesee County. SafeHouse offers 24-hour access to a secure shelter facility with security and trained staff on site at all times as well as access to all Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. During the previous grant period, more than 500 individuals were sheltered and provided with services at SafeHouse.
