About this grant

The project goal is to strengthen the capacities of three leading nongovernmental organizations in Serbia whose work is fundamental to the country’s process of dealing with the recent past and ongoing European integration. The three organizations — the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, and Pescanik — are established human rights organizations that have track records of accomplishments achieved under very difficult external circumstances over the past decade in Serbia. With the grantee taking the lead, these groups will work with a nonprofit management consulting firm to design and implement a set of organizational and programmatic capacity-building activities. Additionally, the grantee and its partners will develop concrete, joint initiatives that draw on each other’s expertise and advance each organization’s mission. The grantee is based in Belgrade, Serbia.
