About this grant
This grant will enable MDC to promote the development and sustainability of state and federal programs and policies that expand asset-building incentives and opportunities for low- and moderate-income families. Activities planned for the three-year grant period include: raising awareness of asset-building through effective messaging to the media, public, and policymakers; and engaging practitioners, parents, and youth to inform policy design and establish a wider advocacy network. MDC is a regional nonprofit organization based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, whose mission is to help organizations and communities close the gaps that separate people from opportunity. This is one of eight grants aimed at building the capacity of state asset-building coalitions to effectively promote the development of state asset policies.
