About this grant

This grant will provide support to the Center for Automotive Research for the development of the Program for Automotive Labor and Education. The grantee has served the automotive industry and the communities it operates in for more than 25 years with unbiased research and multidisciplined expertise. The Program for Automotive Labor and Education is an industry-driven, research-based initiative that will conduct research on the size of the automotive workforce and timing of any potential new hiring, as well as provide a forecast of skill needs and a review of best practice programs and curricula. The program will also provide research assistance to the National Employment Law Project to help it certify automaker and supplier locations for Trade Adjustment Assistance.
