About this grant
The goal of the Corporation for Enterprise Development’s Federal Microenterprise Policy Expansion Project is to advocate for federal policies that increase low-income people’s access to credit and technical assistance to start and operate small businesses. Some of the activities to be pursued during the grant period include convening the Microenterprise Anti-Poverty Policy Consortium, a multiagency effort to advance policy initiatives in support of microenterprise; promoting microenterprise as an eligible economic activity under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program; promoting small business development as an eligible use for retirement savings accounts; expanding the existing infrastructure of community-based nonprofits that support entrepreneurs; and preserving and expanding federal investment in microenterprise through the Small Business Administration’s Business Assistance and Lending program.
