About this grant
The goal of Community Foundation Slagalica is to stimulate greater public participation in decisionmaking and community building in five counties in eastern Croatia. During the grant period, the grantee will provide grants, organize training, raise public awareness about civic responsibility, and promote local philanthropy. The foundation will attract individual and corporate donors and design grantmaking programs that target youth and marginalized groups in local communities. During 2009-2010, the foundation worked with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development to design and implement grantmaking programs for local civic initiatives in Eastern Slavonia, managed two donor-advised funds, and launched a successful fundraising campaign that attracted individual donations in support of community projects. The foundation is based in Osijek and works in five counties in eastern Croatia.
