About this grant
This grant will enable the Youth Development Institute, a program of the Tides Center, to develop and pilot a vocational pathway into work and further education for students who have dropped out of school with low academic levels. The Youth Development Institute is a New York-based entity that partners with community-based organizations, schools, colleges, and others to create programs that help young people transition into adulthood. Recommended support will enable the institute to undertake a research-focused effort that begins to lay the groundwork for the expansion of education and employment pathways where low-skilled youth can meet specific academic and credential requirements via participation in courses focused on workforce preparedness and post-secondary access.
