About this grant
Since 2003, the National Conference of State Legislatures has been building an infrastructure to work with state lawmakers and their staff on developing comprehensive policy approaches to help families achieve economic success. A principal part of this work has been familiarizing policymakers with asset-building concepts. This grant will enable the conference to help inform state lawmakers about asset-building policy frameworks and strategies, and help our state asset coalition grantees increase their understanding of how to effectively work with state legislatures. To this end, the grantee will produce a series of informational materials for its members, including legislative briefs, Webinars, and podcasts, and provide technical assistance to Mott’s asset-building grantees. The National Conference of State Legislatures is the constituent body of legislators from all 50 states. The organization has a staff of approximately 175 in two locations — Denver and Washington, DC.
