About this grant
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint provides one-on-one mentoring to disadvantaged children in Genesee County through a variety of targeted programs. This grant will support an initiative to develop mentorships in the African-American community through African-American fraternities and sororities (commonly referred to as Black Greek Letter Organizations). The grantee will coordinate efforts for the Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies and the local affiliates of the National Pan Hellenic Council, which oversees the Black Greek Letter Organizations in Genesee, Saginaw, and Ingham counties, to increase their involvement in formal mentorship activities.
