About this grant

The program goal is to foster the development of community foundations in Ukraine. To this end, Ednannia, a national support organization for community foundations in Ukraine, will strengthen the capacity and practice of existing community foundations and facilitate the development of at least three new community foundations by providing training, advice, and small grants. In addition, the grantee will support the exchange and joint action among community foundations by organizing various learning events and strengthening their newly established network, the Alliance for Community Foundations. The grantee will also increase the information and knowledge about the Ukrainian community foundation field by conducting and disseminating research and analyses. In 2014-2015, the grantee established three new community foundations, strengthened the capacity of community foundations to respond to the emergency situation related to the armed conflict in Ukraine, and increased its own organizational capacity and expertise. Established as an indigenous grantmaker in 1999, Ednannia is well regarded for its rigorous, transparent, responsive, and effective grantmaking in support of community-level, grassroots organizations throughout Ukraine.
