About this grant
The Institute for Policy Studies works in collaboration with nongovernmental organizations, academics, and the financial sector to promote financing for sustainable energy and to address climate change. Over the last grant period, it worked to ensure that the United Nations’ Green Climate Fund lives up to its mandate of helping developing countries transition to clean energy development. The grantee also continued its efforts to build alliances with the financial sector and other private-sector groups to address the challenge of financing low-carbon development for developing countries, also known as climate finance. This renewal grant will support policy research and civil society coordination on the early implementation of the Green Climate Fund, innovative financing for the fund, and use of the fund to promote developing country micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises working to provide renewable energy options.
