About this grant
The mismanagement of risk by major financial firms and the ensuing financial crisis of 2008-2009 contributed to the loss of millions of jobs and homes and erased trillions of dollars in retirement savings. A coalition of more than 200 organizations was formed to support financial reform. The purpose of this grant to Public Interest Projects is to support public interest research to explore Americans’ understanding of the issues involved in the reform of financial regulations and then to disseminate that research to community organizations and advocates seeking a voice in the development of new policies.
