About this grant
The project goal is to contribute to the debate about the results of the transformational processes that have been taking place in Central and Eastern Europe in the 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the future development prospects of the region and Europe as a whole. To this end, Project Forum will organize a series of online debates and educational public events, which will culminate in a two-day, international conference, entitled "The Central European Forum," on November 17-18, 2009, in Bratislava, Slovakia. The grantee will follow up on the conference with a series of online publications and debates on issues raised during the conference. Established in 2006, the grantee promotes dialogue among civic activists, journalists, and academics on the issues of democracy and development in Central and Eastern Europe via a multilingual Internet portal and a number of social networking media tools.
