About this grant
Economic development efforts in Genesee County have recently focused on the potential of intermodal projects to create jobs and stimulate economic growth. An intermodal project seeks to create efficiencies by combining the transportation infrastructure with the trade and logistics industry. With an intermodal facility at Bishop International Airport recently completed, the next effort led by the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce and its supporting organization, the Genesee Area Focus Fund, is to create a truck-to-rail intermodal project at a brownfield site in the city of Flint.
