About this grant

The Gordon Institute of Business Science was established in 1999 to provide high quality business and management education. Based at the University of Pretoria, the business school runs the Centre for Leadership and Dialogue and provides training to leaders interested in social change. The Network for Social Entrepreneurs, a division of the center, provides training on social entrepreneurship and related programs and offers dialogue platforms on a range of social issues. The programs examine complex issues of social and economic development and attract leaders of nonprofits, business, and government. Past support has enabled the network to host dialogue platforms that bring together all sectors of society to discuss topics related to social change. The network also deepened training on citizen-led development, hosted an online platform to make information accessible, and created spaces for sharing knowledge and resources. This grant will support the Centre for Leadership and Dialogue to continue to strengthen civil society through dialogues and seminars, promote local economies and citizen-led development, and provide spaces for civil society to explore philanthropic solutions to societal challenges.
