About this grant
The project goal is to improve the lives of young people at risk through coordinated efforts and strategic alliances of actors from the public, private, and independent sectors. To this end, the Network of European Foundations for Innovative Cooperation will support the implementation of the Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme in 18 local communities in eight European countries by convening participating foundations, managing grant support from foundations and other donors, and building new partnerships to support the project’s activities. The project will also include creating a new management structure for the program to be in place by 2012. In 2010, a project team based in Berlin assisted local sites with intensive monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of outcomes; provided specific capacity building and technical support to local practitioners; organized transnational networking and exchanges for young people from the local sites and other stakeholders; and developed and disseminated information resources throughout the network. Based in Brussels, the grantee is a network of foundations that acts as a launching pad for new initiatives emphasizing innovative approaches to addressing social and political challenges facing Europe.
