About this grant
The Genesee County Land Bank Authority developed and operates one of the most successful programs to reclaim vacant and abandoned property in the nation. Over the past five years, the grantee has acquired approximately 5,400 properties through the tax foreclosure process. Of those, approximately 1,200 have been returned to use through sale of homes and side lot transfers, and nearly 1,000 dilapidated homes have been demolished. This grant will provide funds for the Genesee County Land Bank Authority to continue to employ a high level planning and development team to work with neighborhoods across the community.
