About this grant
In response to the vacant property crisis in communities across America, the Genesee Institute and the National Vacant Properties Campaign combined to form the Center for Community Progress. This national center promotes policy, research, and technical assistance intended to help communities reduce the effects of blight associated with vacant, abandoned, and underutilized properties. This grant increase will provide partial support for training, technical assistance, a Flint-specific initiative relating to vacant property issues, and work refining the application of the concept of shrinking cities.
