About this grant
This grant will provide funds to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to purchase high protein food items such as meat, eggs, peanut butter, and beans. For those who experience a shortage of food, high protein items are a necessary source of good nutrition. While the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan has proven to be a model in addressing the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food items, purchasing high protein foods decreases the possibility of running out of these highly nutritious items even when donations are inconsistent.
