About this grant
The NCCS Community Platform is a project of the National Center for Charitable Statistics, which is housed within the Urban Institute’s Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy. The platform is an online database and comprehensive, interactive resource for community engagement and problem solving. Besides data on nonprofit organizations, the platform includes demographic and economic data, knowledge resources, and interactive tools that facilitate collaborative planning and action. The platform is now live in 13 sites across the United States. Over the next two years, the center forecasts launching the platform in another 20 communities while it continues its outreach and improvements to the platform’s technology, content, and training offerings. The Urban Institute is an independent think tank that gathers data, conducts research, evaluates programs, offers technical assistance overseas, and educates Americans on social and economic issues to foster sound public policy and effective government.
