About this grant
The 2008 financial crisis and the ensuing economic crisis are the most severe crises to face the global economy since the Great Depression. To address these crises, it is important to address both developed and developing country issues. Established in 1994 by agreement with the United Nations Secretary General, the South Centre is an intergovernmental think tank for developing countries. It provides analyses of development problems and experience as well as intellectual and policy support required by developing countries for collective and individual action, particularly in the international arena. This project will provide research into key issues of the financial and economic crises in order to increase the capacity of developing countries to better participate in the governance of the global financial and economic systems.
