About this grant
The Nonprofit Employment Data Project charts nonprofit employment, wages, and finances over time and in relation to other industries. A collaboration between the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Civil Society Studies, state employment security agencies, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and state nonprofit associations, the project offers the most up-to-date, in-depth analyses now available on economic aspects of the nonprofit sector. Past results include the publication of a comprehensive national report based on nonprofit employment data over 1999-2009 and several state-level reports. Having configured and integrated Bureau of Labor Statistics and other data into a single database, the center is testing a public access Web site which it plans to launch and market over the next 18 months. Johns Hopkins University is one of America’s premier research universities. The Center for Civil Society Studies seeks to improve understanding and the effective functioning of not-for-profit, philanthropic, and civil society organizations.
