Moving Forward Conference

About this grant

This grant will support the Council of Chief State School Officers in convening a Moving Forward meeting to help teams of key leaders from states, school districts, and the philanthropic community to: 1) practically address the funding cliff that most communities and states across the nation are facing; and 2) determine how best to leverage resources, including financial and intellectual capital, to increase the chances of true transformational education change. The focus will be on key leverage points in the existing system — including human capital, student supports, assessment and accountability, and information systems, among others — that must shift for innovation to occur. State teams will share strategies and articulate needs, and national experts in education finance and system transformation will be available to provide information and tools for further work.
