About this grant
The Philanthropic Collaborative is a nonpartisan organization that brings together foundations, nonprofits, and elected officials to provide information to policymakers and the general public about the positive impact of philanthropy. Its mission is to promote understanding about the important role foundations play in improving America’s communities and how foundation giving generates substantial and widespread economic and social benefits for all Americans. Over the past two years the grantee has commissioned and disseminated studies on measuring the benefits foundation giving has on the American economy, on the economic benefits of grantmaking in the health field, and on foundations’ response to the recent economic crisis. Upcoming studies will include, among other topics, the impact of foundation giving on jobs in America. Over the remainder of 2010 and 2011, the grantee plans to produce and disseminate economic analyses of philanthropy, conduct education and communication work — especially among policymakers — and expand its membership.
