About this grant
The Flint Institute of Music is the home of the Flint Symphony Orchestra, the Flint School of Performing Arts, and the Flint Youth Theatre. The Flint Institute of Music is focused on providing a variety of music, dance, and theatre opportunities for residents of all ages. Annually, nearly 300,000 children and adults take lessons, receive educational programming, and attend concerts and performances offered by the institute. This grant will provide support: 1) to the Black Classical Music Family Festival; 2) to extend the ABC12 television broadcast of the symphony’s Holiday Pops concert and the Music in the Parks Back to the Bricks performance; 3) to assist with the hosting of the Limonest (France) Youth Symphony Orchestra in Flint; and 4) for strategic planning and professional development costs of the Flint Youth Theatre.
