About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen the capacity of national associations of civil society organizations globally. The Affinity Group of National Associations, a network which currently has 64 members from around the world, is managed by CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation. Over the past several years, member convenings, working groups, and peer learning exchanges have focused on issues such as relations between civil society and government, transparency and accountability, an enabling environment for civil society, and the development of advocacy tools. Over the next two years, the project goals are to develop four strong regional subgroups, foster international solidarity against national civil society restrictions, extend the membership base, facilitate knowledge-sharing opportunities, realign working groups with thematic and network priorities, and enhance capacity development opportunities. CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is an international alliance established in 1993 to strengthen citizen action and civil society worldwide.
