About this grant
Ontario has nearly 3,000 miles of Great Lakes shoreline—more than any single state in the United States. Based in Toronto, Environmental Defence is a national environmental organization with a demonstrated commitment to protecting the Great Lakes. With previous Mott support, the grantee undertook a range of activities including assisting with implementation of the U.S.-Canada Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, conducting research and analyses to strengthen Ontario’s water policies, and building its own organizational capacity. With renewed support, the grantee will build on these past efforts, with a focus on further implementation of meaningful policy commitments, through activities in five core areas.
