About this grant
In 2011, the City and County of San Francisco launched the Kindergarten to College Program, the first universal and automatic children’s college savings program in the country. Since then, the program has opened 18,000 accounts and encouraged participating families to save over $1 million of their own funds. As the lead nonprofit partner in the Kindergarten to College Program, the Earned Asset Resource Network, Inc., helped design the program and works with the City and County of San Francisco to strengthen and improve program implementation. Renewal support will enable the grantee to design and pilot a new technology platform to simplify program administration and encourage greater participation. Based in San Francisco, the grantee is dedicated to helping low-income families and individuals break the cycle of poverty and create new cycles of prosperity.
