About this grant
Spanning 5.5 million acres and 22 counties, the Saginaw Bay Watershed is the largest in Michigan. The Nature Conservancy is striving to improve water quality and quantity in this system to ensure a healthy and resilient future for Saginaw Bay and all the life it supports. The grantee has developed ecologically based conservation goals, created computer models to target those goals, and forged critical partnerships to implement the goals. During the last two years, the grantee has helped secure millions of dollars in funding directed toward on-the-ground conservation in the highest priority places in the watershed. With continued Mott support, the grantee will enhance implementation of its program in the watershed and share lessons learned with colleagues across the Great Lakes and globally.
