About this grant

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint was created in 1988 with the merger of the Flint Public Trust and the Flint Area Health Foundation. Through discretionary grantmaking, the grantee focuses on the areas of literacy, neighborhoods, healthy food, and advancing philanthropy. The Flint National Service Accelerator Fund, administered by the grantee, in partnership with the United Way of Genesee County, helps Flint area agencies leverage state and national service members through the Corporation for National and Community Service and its affiliates. Flint area service members support projects aligned with the Corporation for National and Community Service priorities including education, public safety, health, and the environment. Activities also include assisting Flint residents and nonprofits during the Flint water crisis. Matching grants provide resources to local nonprofit agencies for the required member cost share, training, and travel reimbursement.
