About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen young people’s capacities for and commitment to active participation in civic life on the local and national levels in Bulgaria. To this end, the Ideas Factory Association will establish a team of trainers and consultants experienced in creative activist approaches and techniques, provide training and capacity building to young activists, provide funding for small campaign and advocacy projects of individual activists and informal youth groups, and document and publicize creative activist practices from Bulgaria and from around the world. In addition, the grantee will provide physical space and administrative support to youth activists and groups for projects and activities that are in line with the grantee’s mission. The grantee was established in 2006 with the mission to strengthen civil society and youth participation in civic life in Bulgaria. The grantee’s key achievements to date include providing training to young activists, organizing successful campaigns to stop illegal construction in protected natural reserves in Bulgaria, and initiating a youth festival of creative social and environmental initiatives.
