About this grant
This grant supports the American Assembly’s April 2011 forum on America’s Shrinking Cities. Founded in 1950 by Dwight Eisenhower and affiliated with Columbia University, the grantee commissions research and produces a series of public affairs forums that convene leading authorities representing a broad spectrum of perspectives and interests. Through facilitated conversation and reflection on background papers, participants at America’s Shrinking Cities conference will jointly develop recommendations that will guide policymakers, practitioners, and others in helping post-industrial cities to reposition themselves as economically viable and livable places. Recommendations will be published and disseminated through the American Assembly’s extensive mailing list.
