About this grant
The Huron River Watershed Council, one of the most respected organizations of its type in the Great Lakes Basin, has launched a model process to address climate change impacts, the Climate Resilient Communities project. Early results include new information on cultivating and sustaining tree species and a more coordinated approach to managing river flows. With additional support, the grantee will help implement the climate change adaptation strategies already identified, continue to distribute reliable climate information to interested parties, and work with stakeholders to integrate climate change considerations into local hazard mitigation planning.
