About this grant
The project goals are to promote constructive youth activism, provide civic education, and engage young people in the work of civil society organizations in Kosovo. During the grant period, the Initiative for Progress will provide young people with the skills and confidence needed to become active citizens in their communities. Approximately 280 young people will participate in training programs and workshops designed to prepare young people to be leaders in their communities and to advance their learning and employment prospects. The grantee will also engage past participants in its training programs to become mentors for young people. Mentors will be supported to develop programs in their communities. Finally, the grantee will work with the Ministry of Education to introduce a curriculum on active civic participation in high schools in Kosovo. During 2015–2016, 174 young people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicity participated in the program. The grantee is based in the city of Ferizaj.
