About this grant

This grant will enable Pew Charitable Trusts to commission original research that explores the impact of the nation’s economic recession and budding recovery on Americans’ personal savings rates. The project will be a collaboration between Pew and the Mott Foundation, with the two institutions working together on the selection of research projects, collaborating on and co-branding three unique reports or publications, and co-hosting a series of events to promote dissemination of the findings and policy implications. The partnership will leverage the financial investment of both institutions to raise public, media, and policymaker awareness of the importance of personal savings for supporting American families and promoting their upward mobility.
