About this grant
The Inter-American Foundation is managing a development program that focuses on the 17 members of Comunalia, a network of Mexican community foundations. During the past two years, the program has supported the training of a cadre of 40 emerging community foundation leaders, the launch of a challenge grant program requiring local matching, technical assistance for Comunalia members, and a strategic planning process for Comunalia. This grant increase will allow for the further development of the leadership training program, a current assessment of the Mexican community foundation field, and exchanges between Comunalia members and with community foundation practitioners in other countries of the hemisphere. The Inter-American Foundation is an independent United States government agency created by Congress in 1969 to channel development assistance directly to the organized poor in Latin America and the Caribbean.
